Terry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his quiet strength, dry wit, and unwavering devotion to his family. He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures—being outdoors, playing tennis, taking joy rides in his cars, working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride.
He also had a special place in his heart for his animals—Zoie, Bailey, Oliver, and Duncan—who brought him years of companionship and joy.
Throughout his life, Terry achieved many accomplishments working in laboratories, product and research development, and global accreditation work as an assessor for A2LA that took him around the world and reflected his dedication to quality and excellence. He touched the lives of countless individuals through his integrity, mentorship, and the steady way he always showed up for others. He also gave back to his community by volunteering his time building and maintaining local park trails.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara; his children, Robert (Christine), Timothy (Kate), and Ryan (Danielle); and his grandchildren, Iris, Asher, Oliver, Ezra, Owen, and Sloan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willam Bryan Combs and Katherine (Roberts) Habeck; his stepfather, Walt Habeck; and his brother, Robert Combs.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday July 8, from 5-7pm at Roswell Funeral Home to celebrate Terry’s life. A private family service will be held later in the week at the Summerfield Cemetery in Fries, VA to lay Terry to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Terry to the Alzheimer’s Association.
