

Thomas Edward Harper, 83, went home to with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 30, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie Spurlock Harper; his three sons, Alan E. Harper (Toni), McDonough, GA, David W. Harper (Debbie), Monroe, GA and Gregory T. Harper, Cumming, GA; granddaughters, Lisa Harper, Orlando FL, Jill Smith (Dave), Greenville, SC, Janet Kornegay (Gus), Oxford, FL, Jamie Mason (Lamar), McDonough, GA; grandsons, Matthew Harper (Ruth), Bangor, PA, Benjamin Harper, Valdosta, GA; great grandchildren, Avery, Meagan and Hunter Kornegay, Oxford, FL, Mallory Mason, McDonough, GA and granddog, Roscoe, Monroe, GA, and many nieces and nephews. Thomas was born in Atlanta on July 30, 1927 to Rhoda Blakney Harper and Thomas E. Harper, Sr. After graduating from Fulton High School in 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Second World War. He was a 1949 graduate of the Atlanta division of the University of Georgia. He was a professional photographer and owned a picture framing business and video production company. He was a member of First Redeemer Church in Cumming. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 P.M., Wednesday, June 1, and the Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, June 2, 2011, BOTH at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA following the chapel service. Roswell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
