Tom was born on June 28, 1954 in Shreveport, LA to William Jordan Robinson and Ethel McCabe Robinson. They moved to Atlanta when Tom was 2 years old and he grew up in Tucker, GA. He attended the University of Georgia, which began his lifelong struggle of watching the Dawgs lose the big one, except for one shining moment in 1980. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s in Finance, hence his obsession with not spending a dime. Tom worked in corporate finance for over 20 years, the majority of which was at Dow Chemical (formerly Union Carbide). He was married to Casondra Hough Robinson for the past 12 years and had two daughters, Meredith Robinson Moore and Jillian Robinson, who he raised with Donna Robinson Feit, in Alpharetta, GA.
In addition to his family, Tom’s passions were junk food, random trivia, Seinfeld, and the Georgia Bulldogs. In his retirement, his occupation was playing trivia every night, becoming a local celebrity and winning free meals under the moniker, “Drillbit.” And he won frequently, thanks to the completely useless knowledge that he stored about baseball, ancient history, U.S. Presidents, and Frank Sinatra.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Billy”, his mother Ethel, and brother Bill.
He is survived by his wife Casondra, his two daughters, Meredith (Blair) and Jillian (Ben), his four grandsons, Conner, McCabe, Sutton, and Vaughn Thomas, and several cousins and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday September 8th at Roswell Funeral Home on Mansell Rd. The service will start at 2:00pm with visitation from 2:30-4:30pm.
The family would love if everyone came in red & black.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at nationalmssociety.org/donate.
For the avoidance of doubt, Donald Trump is not invited to the service.
