Thomas A Valentine

Tom, who was born August 9, 1935, was the oldest child of Virgil F. and Hilda Keen Valentine. He had a keen interest in genealogy and meticulously researched and kept up with family history and stories.

Active in the Boy Scouts of America for numerous years, Tom was a troop leader for scouts in the Stockbridge and Henry County area during the 1970s.

Tom, who was respected for his mathematical abilities, worked in the accounting and payroll department at Oxford Industries and retired from an insurance group in Atlanta owned by Berkshire Hathaway.

A member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, he also belonged to the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his mother Hilda Valentine of Maysville, his brother Jack Valentine of Mulberry, Florida, his sister Carol Boyd of Mableton, his brother Carl Valentine of Maysville, his brother Jerry Valentine of Newnan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Tom will be Friday, November 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home on Mansell Road in Roswell Georgia. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Roswell, with burial to follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park on Marietta Boulevard in Atlanta
