Kenya Tyson Thomas received his wings on May 12, 2026. Leaving us so suddenly at the age of 45. Tyson or 5Shotz, as he was known and loved by, was born to the late Richard Bebee Sr. and Tyretta Thomas on July 4, 1980, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Tyson grew up in Atlanta and East Point, Georgia. He attended Atlanta Public Schools and Fulton County Public Schools, most notably Tri- Cities High School, where his reputation was known and loved by everyone.
Tyson was introduced to God at a very young age and knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Always known to be good with his hands, he could take anything apart and fix it. Tyson was noted as a Carpenter and craftsman. Hard hat always in hand. He contributed to some of Atlanta’s most notable monuments, like the Georgia World Congress Center and Grady Memorial Hospital. When he could no longer use his hands for carpentry, he developed a passion for painting, birthing Capeable Crafts. He sold his art and donated the proceeds to charity. Tyson devoted time to serving the community in Chicago, where he served the homeless and orphans. He was also an advocate for disability rights and anti-bullying.
Finding foundation, friends that became family, loyalty, and love in a place that started it all for him, 2040 Stanton Road, was where Tyson was rooted. Becoming the ground on which his legacy was built. It was there that Tyson began his love for music; it was there that Tyson knew he was rooted in Greatness. Alongside his brother, Young Woo, they embarked on a musical journey. Taking those he loved with him, birthed 2040 B.M.E, Brothaz Mean Everything. Music was the outlet, the way he spoke his life, his truth, and his love for those he cared for.
Never one to shy away from a good time, nobody was safe from his jokes and joning. It was always smiles and laughter when he was in the room. If you heard, “Boy, if you don’t get yo,” just know he was going in!
Above all, Tyson will be missed for the love he gave. Being blessed as a father of 6, he showed his sons what a man looked like and how to provide and support. He showed his daughters what love looked and felt like, always showing up and present for every moment. Tyson met the love of his life, Bianca McNutt, in August of 2015. Taking a chance on a once-in-a-lifetime love, he moved to Chicago to be with her just three months later. Never staying away too long from his kids, he brought her home in April of 2016, where they planted roots and started their lives together. Suffering a life-altering stroke in December 2018 was not enough to stop their love story; they wed on July 2, 2019, in Douglasville, Georgia. Serving as his faithful wife, Bianca cared for him for 7 ½ years until his passing, upholding her vows and unwavering love.
A son, a father, a husband, but also a brother, who lost two pieces of his heart after losing his little and big brothers. To know one was to know them all. The hurt and strength he carried when he lost them was so great. After almost 15 years, the Trio is once again together: Woo, Blow, and Tyson. The world is a little less bright, less funny, and music just doesn’t hit the same without them in it.
Welcoming him into God’s embrace is: his father, Richard, three angel babies he never had the chance to hold, and brothers, Tymario and Quinton.
Left to carry his legacy is: his wife, Bianca; parents, Tyretta and Jeffrey; children: Chrishawn, Lavant, Kiara, Hailey, Ki’re, and Kenya; grandchildren: Dior, Christian, Chase, Naylani, and Nazir; brothers, Richard Jr. and Cedric, sisters: Brittany, Ashley, Tara, Ashley (Shortstop), Sherita, Katrina, and Latasha; mother and father in law, Lonnie and Yolanda; sisters in law, Lonya, Tamia, Kendra; brother in law, Tony, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that are more like brothers.
The world was a better place for having had Tyson a part of it.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076, on May 23, 2026, beginning at 11:30 am.
