Born April 26, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to Mary Roberta Castelli and Vincent John Castelli Sr., he primarily grew up in Miami, Florida before spending the rest of his adult life in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Vince began his career as an entrepreneur while he was still a teenager. At just 18 years old, he became the youngest person hired as an insurance agent at Prudential Insurance Company, requiring his mother’s signature to finalize his contract. By the age of 21, he had already risen to the position of regional manager for a major life insurance company. He pivoted his focus to television and radio advertising, launching a wrestling promotion business and opening a training facility through the Universal Wrestling Alliance.
Vince was an innovator in broadcast television. He produced one of the first television commercials featuring an attorney promoting his own services. In 1991 his mother founded Prism Broadcasting Network to assist Vince with his business endeavors. Together, they purchased the first TV station for him to run and operate in Rome, Georgia. They both worked tirelessly to expand the business and within a few years moved the headquarters to Atlanta. In 2003, he created American News Network, a national newscast that provided news programming to fellow independent television stations across the country. He continued to build a portfolio of low-power television stations, at one point managing more than 30 stations in dozens of cities and states. One of his greatest achievements was creating one of only 13 television stations in the nation to broadcast in a dual television-radio format. Over the course of his expansive career, he broadcast hundreds of networks into tens of millions of households.
He is remembered for his creativity and impact on media and advertising. Vince is survived by his children, Lauren, Gina, Dominique, Nicolette, and Vincent III; his brother, John Castelli; son-in-law, Nicholas Papp; and granddaughter, Arianna. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Castelli, his father, Vincent Castelli Sr. and his mother, Mary Castelli.
