On Saturday, May 28, 2022, Vivian Lorraine (Butler) Wilt, passed away peacefully in her Roswell home at the age of 97. She was born August 4, 1924, in Philipsburg, PA. She was adopted by Raymond and Grace (Williams) Butler on January 5, 1925. She graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1942 and married Paul Joseph Wilt on March 1, 1943, in Hollidaysburg. The couple moved to Michigan after the Korean Conflict. Lorraine was a devoted homemaker for all her life. She enjoyed many hobbies. She was a voracious reader and an avid card player. She loved dogs and cats and had several throughout her long life. After years of research, Lorraine connected with her birth father’s family. The photos they sent were very meaningful to her. She was a ten-year cancer survivor. Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She modeled selflessness and love to all who knew her. Lorraine is survived by her children: Raymond of Roswell; Paul (Nancy) of Clinton, Michigan; Michelle (Alan) Marx of Roswell; and Barbara (Mike) Eichin of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruth (Wilt) Kline of Anaheim, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her daughter, Deborah; her parents; her two brothers, Richard and Donald; and her sister, Alice. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 20, 2022, followed by interment in the columbarium next to her husband at Cross of Life Lutheran Church, 1000 Hembree Road, Roswell, Georgia, 30076. Memorial donations may be given to: Cross of Life Lutheran Church, Roswell; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; and Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
