Jose Jesus Castellanos

Julian and Cecilia Castellanos gave birth to Jose de Jesus Castellanos on December 31, 1937 in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was the youngest of ten children. He was raised in Guadalajara where he met the love of his life, Consuelo Ruiz. Jose and Consuelo wed on April 23, 1966. Shortly after, Gustavo and Maria were born. Jose came to the United Stated and later brought his wife and two children to live in this country. They made their home in Venice, California.. They added to their family four additional children: Jose, Silvia, Jaime and Arturo. Jose worked as a janitor while Consuelo was a homemaker. After a short stay in Watsonville and Baldwin Park, they bought a home in La Puente. He lived a full life in La Puente until he succumbed to cancer on March 19, 2015 in Covina, California. Jose overcame many obstacles and challenges however his outlook on life was optimistic.

Jose was a loving father that dedicated his life to his family. He remained positive, happy and never complained. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, mentor and friend. His favorite thing to do was spend time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, six children, eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Jose touched many lives and will never be forgotten. He will live in our hearts forever.
