Timothy J. King, age 64 years, of Hacienda Heights, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2016. Tim was born in Kenmare, North Dakota, on July 26, 1952 to Chester and Regina King. He attended and served as an Altar Boy at St. Joseph's Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Amat High School in 1970. From there he went on to college at Cal Poly Pomona in which he studied abroad in Sweden during his senior year. He received his bachelor’s degree in freshwater biology and went on to use it at a company known as Truesdail Labratories. Some years later he followed his heart to become a computer programmer; after completing his training he landed a job at a leading aerospace manufacturing company, McDonald Douglas – now known as Boeing. He enjoyed playing tennis, bike riding, photography, craftsmanship, perfecting the sound quality of his stereo, and traveling with friends. In 1986 his health took an unfortunate turn after being diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. Thankfully he was able to live at home under the care of his loving parents. During the past four years, the total amount of his care was passed on to a devoted caregiver named Millette. At home he enjoyed a comfortable life watching TV, playing on the computer, listening to music, swimming at the YMCA, exercising at the Nifty Over Fifty, visiting with family and friends, and spending summers in North Dakota. He is survived by his brother, Mike; sisters, Kathy and Carol; brother-in-law, Andy; nephew, Mason. Funeral arrangements have been made at Queen of Heaven Mortuary in Rowland Heights on Friday, Oct. 14th at 10:30 am. Small, on-site reception following the service.
