Anthony Joseph Mazzucca Jr., Tony to his friends and family and AJ to his brother Jerry Mazzucca (deceased 2021), was born on May 21, 1947, in Carbondale Pennsylvania to Anthony Joseph Mazzucca and Evelyn Theresa Mazzucca (Ne Brunamonti). Growing up in Carbondale created an idyllic childhood where his parents ran the local pharmacy and provided medicine and household goods to local families. Anthony was a proud alter server at their local parish where his family was actively involved, it was a role he cherished throughout his life. He also engaged in other activities in the local area, including golf at the local country club where he learned to love golf and excelled as one of the best golfers in the community. After high school he headed off to pharmacy school at the College of Pharmacy and Science, in Philadelphia where both his Dad and brother earned their pharmacy degrees. After graduating from pharmacy school, Anthony headed to Napa, California to join his parents and brother.
Once in California, Anthony became a licensed pharmacist and played golf. In Napa, he met and married his wife Beth. After they married, he spent his time raising three daughters, working on cars and playing golf, but not necessarily in this order. Tony spent endless hours ensuring their family vehicles would last for decades through continuous maintenance and installing all new parts himself. He also played golf whenever he could and at one point he even built his own clubs for fun.
Anthony was always very generous with family and gave freely. The greatest joy he received out of life was spending time with his family and loved spending any free time he had with his daughters and grandchildren. He even went on one last trip to Disneyland in 2024 and had a great time. He went on space mountain and laughed throughout the ride.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Mazzucca, daughter Emily Gray and Kara Houston, and grandkids Maggie, James, Georgie and Violet.
