Barbara Ann Durgan-Hitchcock

Our beloved Mother, Barbara Ann Durgan Hitchcock, passed away peacefully the evening of June 7, 2023. We are eternally grateful that Dick and Cheryl Melear, her minister and wife, were by her side as she departed. Many of her family members were with her that day and evening. Our Mother was well loved and loved all of us so dearly. She will be terribly missed.

Mother was born Barbara Ann Medley in Healdton, OK March 14, 1934. She had a challenging childhood. She sought the Lord as a child and walked with him until he called her home. She married Billy Ray Durgan in 1953 and they had four children; Ranell, Marta, Marcia and David. Mother is now reunited with our sister Marta who passed in 2022. Later in life Mother married Robert Hitchcock and spent many loving years together. Mother leaves behind 3 children, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a half-brother.

Mother was a business woman for many decades. As much as she loved her business, her greatest joy was her family and church family. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

Out of all her wonderful traits, we think her loving acceptance of all made her especially unique. She never met a stranger. She was dearly loved by all she met.

All of our lives have been blessed by her and the world will not be the same without her.

We take great comfort that she is in the loving arms of our Lord.

A celebration of life will be held Monday July 3rd 2023 at Church of Christ at 12 PM located on 3321 Taylor Rd Loomis CA 95650
