Belva Fern Knox Neal Hill, 78, of Sacramento, CA passed away peacefully of natural causes with her loving family by her side on Sunday, December 13, 2020. The family will hold a private memorial service for her at a later date.
Belva was born on May 15, 1942, in Ashley, Illinois, to Andy and Irene Knox (nee Ferguson). She graduated in the top tier of her class at Woodlawn High School, Woodlawn, IL, in 1960. She is survived by her four daughters; Johnette (Craig), Jo (Kevin), Joy, Jaime (Jacques); and one son, Andy; five grandchildren, Mitchell (Mary), Kaarina, Adam (Melissa), Ben and Lucien; and four great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Pam), and sister, Karen. She was preceded in death by her mother Irene Taylor, father Andy Knox, and sister Linda Kirk.
Belva is remembered for her loving and caring spirit and willingness to always help others and those in need. Belva could find humor in most things and you could often find her cracking up over something. There was always music playing in her house and she passed down the love of music to her children and grandchildren. She had a sense of adventure and enjoyed travelling the continental U.S. by bus or by train and was an avid reader often escaping to the depths of a good book. Belva had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and found comfort in her bible studies. She enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society and having multiple pets over the years. Belva was brave and beautifully stubborn and always conveyed that her greatest accomplishment was raising her five children by herself.
The family would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to all the Sutter Pace Program caregivers and staff, with a special mention to Dr Chattergee, for all their help and support throughout the last ten years.
For those wishing to honor Belva's life, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to WEAVE.org, a charitable organization that provides assistance and services for women and children in need in the Sacramento area, online at: http://www.weaveinc.org or by calling 916-448-2321
