

Born April 1, 1934 in Alea, Tripolis, Greece. Bessie entered peacefully into rest at her Carmichael home on September 15, 2012, at age 78. Bessie was preceded in death by her father Peter Kokkinis and mother Anastasia. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years James and sons Thomas (Yiota), Stanley and her loving grandson Dimitris. Bessie is also survived by her brother George Kokkinis (Bessie), nephew Peter (Maria), and niece Anastasia. Bessie retired from her family business, Apollo Cleaners, after working as a seamstress for over 18 years along side her husband. Bessie was well known for her exceptional Greek cooking (dolmathes) and pastries (galaktobouriko). After dedicating several years of service with her friends at the St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church and Philoptochos Society, her health began to regress due to kidney failure. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Da Vita Dialysis - Manzanita Clinic and Kaiser North for their care and support. Bessie will be dearly missed by her family, relatives and many friends. Friends are welcome to attend Visitation Wednesday, September 19 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm & are invited to attend the Trisagion Services at 7:00 at Nicoletti Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd. Funeral service will be held Thursday September 20 at 11am at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 3022 F Street in Sacramento. Burial will follow at East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Ln, Sacramento. Memorial contributions in the memory of Bessie may be made to the Annunciation or St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church.
