Don was born March 3, 1933 in Portland, Oregon. His parents were Charles and Hazel Weber.
Don was 11, his sister Nancy was 7, when his missionary parents moved the family to Uruguay. There he enjoyed the farm lifestyle that his parents taught him, which probably influenced his large home gardens later in life.
Don married Ruth Schmidt in Argentina in 1954, and returned to the United States later that year. He studied Industrial Education, receiving a degree in 1958 from Pacific Union College. Don enjoyed fire fighting in the summers, where he lived with his family in a lookout near St. Helena, California. They had two children, Don and Shirley Weber.
A move to Sacramento in 1958, and a few years teaching “shop” at James Marshall High School in west Sacramento led Don to a career change in 1967. Don’s love of cars and his ability to repair damaged vehicles led to the start of Movado Body Shop on Tower Avenue. The business thrived and resulted in a large shop, with multiple employees. Many life-long friends were made during this time of his life. Also enjoyed were his Weber relatives in the Sacramento area.
Don was married to Linda (Weber) Steele from 1966-1984.
Don married Ruby Miles on the first day of summer in 1986. He and Ruby were true motorcycle aficionados, who were passionate about riding with each other and friends. They enjoyed each others company until Ruby passed in November of 2022.
Don always enjoyed his time off, and skied and fished with friends and family into his 80’s. He loved to tinker on old cars and did multiple restorations.
