

Dean Ender passed away January 15, 2011 at the age of 76 due to health complications. Born in 1934 in Woodland, CA, Dean graduated from Woodland High School in 1953. In 1954 he, along with several friends, joined the Marines and served three years in Korea. After returning home he attended California State University Sacramento and graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration in 1962. Dean was a successful salesman for over 40 years for such companies as Nabisco, MJB Coffee and Kelley Clarke. Dean was an avid sports fan, having coached his son's baseball teams for many years and later played slow pitch softball himself with neighborhood teams and then with the Golden Seniors. Dean was a devoted family man and most enjoyed his time with his kids and grandchildren. Dean wrote, 'I am most proud of my three children and grandchildren'. Dean loved his family, the N.Y. Yankees, the Oakland Raiders, a warm sunny day, a funny story or joke and a nice cold beer. Dean is survived by his children Gary, Elaine and Rhonda, sister Janis and grandchildren Kayley, Kyle, Gracie and Austin. A memorial service is being held on Sunday, January 30th, 1 pm at Nicoletti, Culjis and Herberger Funeral Home on Folsom Blvd and 54th St. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
