

Peacefully passed away on August 2, 2013, at the age of 100. He was born in San Francisco, CA, on April 12, 1913, to Chong Quok and Shee Chan (stepmother Mok Ho Fok). Preceded in death by his wife, Joan, of 67 years.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII with battles and campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, Rhineland, Scotland, England, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
His life was marked with hard work, diligence and a cooperative spirit with his predeceased brothers, George, Henry, Francis, Henry, and Bing, all of whom operated the Paramount Market in downtown Sacramento. Bing Tong Fok (brother) and Suzanne Fok (sister) survive him. He is also survived by his daughters, Eleanor (Ted) and Elizabeth (Ken), and his adored grandchildren, Sachi, Keiko, Ayumi, Mikey, Jonathan and Kristina. The most precious legacy you left us are the enduring gifts of your love of family, kindness of spirit, fierce loyalty, staunch individualism, and the encyclopedia approach to those that would graciously listen to your oratories. And, for these precious gifts, we are eternally grateful. Be at peace and content, for your efforts in this life are well remembered with love and gratitude by those whom you have touched.

Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and for the funeral services on Friday August 9, 2013 at 11:00 am both at Harry A. Nauman and Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd. Sacramento, CA 95822, followed by interment at East Lawn Cemetery.
