Born on August 25, 1924, in Rusovce, Hungary; passed away on September 17, 2010. Preceded in death by his dearly beloved wife Gizella Ritter. Survived by children: Gizella Whipple, Janet Ritter, Esther Ritter and Frank Ritter; daughter-in-law Cindy Nordquist-Ritter; grandchildren Deborah Prince, Kathy Whipple, Amie Whipple, Ryan Ritter, Nicki Ritter, Brittany Ritter, Chelsey Ritter, and Austin Ritter; great-grandchildren Theresa Starks, Cecelia Prince, Sara Whipple, Christopher Whipple; and great-great-grandchildren Brooklyn Starks and Bryson Mueller. Born in a rural village in Hungary, Frank and his family walked through war-torn Europe to Italy. With literally nothing but the clothes they were wearing, Frank's family refugeed, first to Australia, then subsequently to the U.S. While learning the language and customs of a new country, Frank worked as a commercial painter and proudly provided a college education to his children. His creative side was expressed in gardening, having an ability to not only make plants grow, but understanding how to combine colors and textures to create visual art. He was an avid camper, hunter, and fisherman and he and Gizella spent many years traveling through the western US with their camper. To the end of his days he enjoyed reading and studying European history and Geography. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Wednesday, September 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at HARRY A. NAUMAN & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4041 Freeport Blvd. A graveside service will follow on Thursday, September 24, at St. Mary's Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be made at www.harryanauman.com.
