Gladys passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on August 11 in Sacramento, California with family by her side. She was a long-time resident in the Sacramento Area before relocating to Virginia. Born in Nauvoo, Illinois, March 31, 1913, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Homer Lee Sparks and her son Duane Cook. She is survived by her children: Richard Sparks of Napa, Gary Sparks of Sacramento, Ruth Piotrowski of Woodbridge, VA, Otho Cook, Jr. of Carriere, MS, Beverly Blankenship of Picayune, MS, Cathy Nix of Topaz Lake, NV, Lucille Kaiser of Franklin, NH, and Geraldine Stockstill of New Iberia, LA and their families. Six generations will dearly miss her.
