VARGAS JR., Guadalupe Of Sacramento, August 21, 2015. Beloved husband of 55 years to Rina Vargas. Dear father of Daniel E. Vargas (Gretchen) of Fair Oaks, Monica N. Anderson of Sacramento, Suzanne M. Hunt (David) of El Dorado Hills, Denise M. Peterson (Garth) of West Sacramento and the late Guadalupe “Michael” Vargas III. Loving brother of Joe, Rudy and Gilbert Vargas, Amelia Ortiz, Arcelia Medina and Esther Medina and the late Peter Vargas. Cherished Papa to Davis, Benjamin, Reagan, Blake, Gillian, Michaela, Derek, Eliza and Jill, and 2 great-grandchildren, Dean and Laci. Also survived by his beloved dog, Bella and cat, Bandit. A native of Seguin, Texas, age 76 years. Lupe loved his family dearly and was especially devoted to all of his grandchildren. He was an avid marathon runner, member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4991 and proud Texan, supporting his Dallas Cowboys, and always wearing blue. Friends are invited to attend a Vigil 6:30 PM Wednesday (tomorrow) and a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Thursday both at ST. LAWRENCE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4325 Don Julio Blvd., North Highlands. Interment to follow at CALVARY CEMETERY, 7101 Verner Ave., Sacramento, CA.
