

Beloved daughter, niece and cousin passed away on February 11, 2015 in Sacramento, CA. She was born to Fred Sylvester Blackburn and Mary Musto Blackburn on April 12, 1936. Joan was their only child and lost her father at the tender age of seven. Joan was a lifelong Sacramento resident and attended St. Francis grammar school and graduated high school with the St. Francis Class of 1954 where she was known by her many friends for her beautiful red hair. Joan was an unselfish, kind, considerate person with a deep love and devotion to the Catholic Church, to Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, and to all the angels and saints which showed greatly in her time spent caring for others. Her presence will be greatly missed by her many cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory may be made to St. Stephen the First Martyr Roman Catholic Church, the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
Services for Joan will be held on Thursday, February 19th, at St. Stephen the First Martyr Catholic Church 5461 44th Street, Sacramento, CA. The Holy Rosary starts at 9:30 am followed by a Requiem Mass at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park 4300 Folsom Blvd Sacramento, CA. Requiescat In Pace.
