Born 1/5/17 in Hawkinsville, in Siskiyou County California and passed away 06/22/2013 in New Mexico. She is survived by her sons Charles (Dianna) Noya, Richard Noya and Ronald (Rosamaria Acuna) Noya. She also has 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Her husband of 58 years, Joseph Noya, predeceased her in July of 1997. And they are finally reunited.
She left the ranch life at age 17 and moved to San Francisco and attended St. Francis Nursing School. A profession that she maintained, with joy, for the rest of her life. As a Registered Nurse she worked for both Mercy Hospital and the UCD Medical Center. She experienced world travel, enjoyed dancing with her husband, going to the Music Circus as well as attending crab feeds and other church functions. In retirement she worked at convalescent hospitals, volunteered at the Sacramento Food Bank, was involved with the Retired Nurses Association, the Altar Society and working at Mercy Plaza as a member of the Mercy Guild. After moving from her home in Tahoe Park she moved to an apartment next to Sacred Heart Church, where she attended daily Mass and Communion. Eventually she relocated to an independent living facility in Carmichael and then moved to New Mexico to live with relatives.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 1st from 4:00-7:00 pm at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home at 5401 Folsom Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church at 39th and J Street. Having never lost her compassion for those less fortunate, and in lieu of flowers requested donations be made to charities devoted to helping those who have far less and have been not as blessed as she was.
