She was born and lived in Colorado until moving to the Sacramento area in
[1957], where she met and married her husband, Gary. They enjoyed a long, happy marriage in their home in East Sacramento.
She leaves behind her daughter, Tina (Kaylor) Anger, and son, Phillip. She is also survived by her only granddaughter, Melissa; grandsons, Charlie, Bryan, and Brandon; and six great-grandchildren: Kyler, Jakob, Jaxon, Jemma, Riley, and Rainn. Her nephew, Aaron Moeller, who was very close to her, also lives in Sacramento.
Also surviving are her sisters, Barbara and Linda, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members who live out of state (mostly Colorado). She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; her daughter, Minda Simmons; her parents; and several siblings.
Remembered for her forever beautiful smile, giving nature, and welcoming attitude, Judy never met anyone she couldn't charm. As a long-time member of the American Lutheran Church of the Cross, she was always available to serve until her health intervened. Many long-lasting friendships were formed through her connection to the church.
Cremation and interment of the remains beside her husband, Gary, will occur in a private ceremony at the National Veterans Cemetery in Dixon. A remembrance gathering at the church will follow at a future date.
