Hansen, her daughter Jan Scully Royse (Brian), son Bob Hansen (Gail), daughter CathyAnn Simon (Brad); grandchildren Blaine Scully, Tara Burdine and Sean Scully, Rob, Michelle, Tyler and Zach Hansen; Jessica, Derek, Spencer and Madeline Simon; great grandchildren Sterling and Remington Simon. A 1949 graduate of Grant Union High School, Kathy fell in love with and married her high school sweetheart Robert (Bob) L. Hansen, and together shared a lifelong romance of 67 years. Sharing the joys of living with their family and friends, Kathy and Bob set an inspiring example of how to live in a committed and loving marriage, how to be loving parents and how to bless and encourage those around them. A dedicated state employee, Kathy had a successful 30 year career at the California State Personnel Board. Starting as a Clerk Typist, Kathy worked her way up to a Staff Services Analyst position, where she was a respected, knowledgeable and valued human resources analyst. Kathy Hansen made all who shared time and experiences with her feel loved, accepted, nurtured, supported, appreciated, admired and encouraged. She genuinely enjoyed any time she could share with family and friends, and always made the most out of that time. She loved playing card games with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and they loved playing with her. Kathy was also an avid bridge partner with her husband Bob. Through volunteer and service activities, Kathy found many ways to share herself and her time. While her children were growing up she gave much of her time to Loyola Guild and, in retirement she contributed much of her time to The Women's Forum, serving as President. A favorite and important activity of Kathy's over the last 20 years was her Bible study group. Kathy Hansen was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing and sharing life with her. Her faith was strong and her love of family unmatched. She will be dearly missed but her love is indelible and will be forever present. May this angel rest in the peace and blessing of her God.
