Lois Jeanne Lindstrom, born April 6, 1928 in Sacramento, CA, died peacefully in her home on August 23, 2021 at the age of 93 with her daughter Karen by her side. Lois was preceded in death by her parents George and Margaret Herbert, Sister Dorothy Bertolucci, husband Leland Tiner, and husband Richard Leonard Lindstrom. She is survived by her two daughters, Susie (Tiner) Johnson and Karen (Tiner) LeFrak, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Lois and Leland (Lee) met while working at Pacific Telephone where Lois worked for nearly 20 years before retiring and becoming a stay-at-home mom.
After Lee’s death in 1982, she married Leonard in 1992, a retired art teacher from Luther Burbank High School. Both being graduates of Sacramento Senior High School and life-long Sacramentans, they had many friends in common and many shared interests. They enjoyed traveling, shopping, and volunteering for ten years with the Bridge Builders of the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services.
Lois loved gardening, baking, knitting, ceramics, and shopping. She will fondly be remembered for her class, style, and refined appearance, however her greatest gift was the caring love for her family. At her advanced age she was very knowledgeable using technology of all kinds especially her iPad with email and a myriad of apps. Her detailed memory was never lost, and the sharing of life stories continued to amaze us all.
A private service will be held at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento on September 3rd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Vitas Hospice at vitascommunityconnection.org or any of the current California fire funds.
