Beloved and only son of Ron and the late Carol Brusato. Stepson of Jerry Brusato. Sadly, leaves his three sisters Tamrah Brusato, Lisa Martin (Doug), and Julie Shaffer (James). Step brother to Jason Landreth (Debra), Michael Lenzi (Pat), and Debra Lenzi. Special Uncle to Sarah (Bryan), Maria, Amy, (Patrick), Chris, James, Stephanie (Jordan), and Mark. Great Uncle to Deondre, DeShawn, Saraya, Ema, Emily, Lizzie, Jordan, Maddie, Noelle, and Jason. God Father to Nick Horton and Lauryn Cabrales. Father Martin was a Catholic priest for 29 years where he served at various parishes. He attended school at John Morse, St. Anne's, Christian Brothers, and St. Patrick's Seminary. He received a Master's Degree in Theology, and a Masters Degree in Psychology at St. Albert's College which was affiliated through U. C. Berkley. He was also a Captain in the Air Force Chaplaincy program. He served as Deaconate at Holy Cross Church in Woodland, Associate Pastor at St. Josephs in Elk Grove and St. Philomena's in Carmichael. He served as Pastor at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Gait where he raised the funds to build the church and was there until injuries put him in a downward spiral and he was no longer allowed to work. His injuries occurred at the time he was the secretary to the Bishop at the Cathedral where one night while he slept in the Rectory was violently attacked. The horrible injuries followed him throughout his career and even as the pain flared he never wanted to stop his pastoral duties. While he was well, he travelled the world where he performed missionary work. In his retirement, he loved working in his garden with his best buddy Jeff Bianchini. Father Martin was truly a loving, caring, warm-hearted, extremely generous devout catholic who was dedicated to our Lord Jesus, loved his country, family, and being a priest, which became his life's quest at the age of five. He loved life even with all of his hardships and kept his great sense of humor. Visitation is Wednesday night, January 10, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church 660 Florin Road.
