Michael White of Rancho Murieta, CA, born on May 2, 1978, in Sacramento, CA, passed peacefully on April 29, 2024, at the age of 45 after an acute illness but his larger than life personality will live on forever. He is survived by his wife of nearly 23 years, Pam, and their son, Cooper, their daughter, Katie, and his beloved chocolate lab, Rocky.
He is also survived by his mother and father, Bill and Pamela Franks, of Gig Harbor, WA, his father, Jim White, of Yuma, AZ, his brothers, Sean (Lisa) Telford and Matt (Stephanie) Franks, both of Sacramento, CA, his sister Melissa (Matt) McGuire of Rancho Murieta, CA, his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Margie Mills, of Madisonville, KY, his sister-in-laws, Amanda Mills, of Hollywood, AL and Baptista (Chris) Lindsey of Madisonville, KY, his brother-in-law, Brian Mills, of Madisonville, KY, and several nieces and nephews that he loved and adored.
Affectionately known as Mike by his family and many friends, he spent many summers in Kentucky on the farm owned by his grandparents, Walter and Helen Ruby, and this is where he eventually met the love of his life, Pam. He was a computer guru by trade, an avid SF Niners and Giants fan, and one of the best storytellers anyone could ever meet. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his lifetime — building and flying RC airplanes as a child, golfing as a teenager, fishing his entire life, competing in fantasy football, and preparing meals that could rival any five-star chef as an adult — anything he set his mind to doing, he went all in.
He will always be remembered for his big smile, entertaining sense of humor, and the ability to never stop talking but also be the best listener. He made sure everyone around him felt included, never met anyone who remained a stranger for long, and loved making others laugh. He could not stand a quiet room and never made it through an entire movie without having to have a conversation. He had a superb sense of direction, referencing landmarks instead of street names, unlike Pam, who he would tease about being confused by the words North, East, South, or West. He loved to vacation and he and Pam spent much of their first decade together in Truckee for camping trips, Pajaro Dunes, Hawaii, or Jamaica on the beach, sightseeing in Yosemite, cross-country drives, or just quick trips over to Reno for the annual rib cook-off. Above all this, his greatest joy was his children, Cooper and Katie, whom he would tell you hung the moon and all the stars. From passing down his culinary skills to coaching Cooper in baseball and helping Katie with softball to movie marathons and late night music jam sessions — he simply loved being their Dad and considered them his most significant accomplishment.
All are welcome to attend a celebration of life planned for 3 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2024, at Rancho Murieta Community Church, 14670 Cantova Way, Rancho Murieta, CA 95683.
