

Born on July 27, 1949 in Sacramento, CA. Passed away on August 2, 2010 in Davis, CA at the age of 61. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (nee Takemori) and father of Byron and Devin. He was preceded in death by his son Matthew. He is survived by his parents, Alvin and Wanda, brother, Melvin (Melanie) and aunt Mary Saito. He received his A.B. degree from UC Berkeley in 1972, was married in 1974 and has resided in Davis, CA since then. A licensed architect for more than 30 years, Morris practiced his skills in design, project/construction management, specifying and inspection. Through his career he was an active participant in several professional organizations culminating in presidencies of the Central Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Sacramento Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute. His list of awards and accolades are numerous. However, his passion was educating, inspiring and molding students interested in the profession including serving on the California Architectural Board exams for licensure. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Harry A. Nauman and Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd, Sacramento. A fund has been established that will be used to provide educational opportunities to college students in design and construction as well as continuing education activities for professionals.
