Harry A. Nauman & Son
Noland Joel Mayo of Citrus Heights, CA passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the age of 73. He and his twin brother were born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1948 in Los Angeles, CA and grew up grew up Perris, CA. He and his twin brother, Roland, graduated from Perris High in 1966. They both quickly enlisted into the Army where Noland served up to 28 years, he retired as an E7, Sergeant First Class.
In his younger adult years, Noland was actively involved in several activities and hobbies. He played racquetball once a week; he was on the softball team with his battalion and often hosted gatherings and social events with and for his fellow soldiers. Once Noland retired and moved to Sacramento/Citrus Heights, he became active within his city, serving as a neighborhood watch committee member and eventually becoming a member of his church. Noland was an avid motorcyclist and even served as his Goldwing Chapter’s Safety Coordinator.
Noland is preceded in death by his parents, Ray Oscar and Mollie Pearl Mayo, his twin brother, Roland Noel Mayo and his late wife, Melanie Jean Hansen-Mayo.
Noland is survived by his children, Sean Mayo and Damon (Mayo) Franklin and his daughters, Eva (Mayo) Petty and Yolanda Mayo.
Noland was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He loved his family friends and his Church. He always enjoyed playing a couple of rounds of Dominoes, had a love for technology and loved taking long motorcycle rides with his late wife Mel, his brother and his family. Noland always made it a point to call or be available for calls from all of his children once a week and was always ready to host a visit from time to time when an event would come up. Noland was a real lover of all animals and adopted quite a few in his lifetime. From dogs to cats to birds, he always had a special place in his heart for them. It does need to be said that he did NOT like snakes though!
The family would like to thank all of his friends and family for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
