Phillip Edward Abrams

Phillip (Phil) Abrams was called home to God on February 26, 2018. He was born on June 17, 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He grew up in Wisconsin and Arizona before serving two tours in the US Army. On his return, Phil lived in the Bay Area before settling in Sacramento, where he resided for the past 67 years.

Upon arriving in Sacramento, he worked in the hardware industry, including his own store, Phil’s Hardware. He was in the swimming pool industry for many years including working many years with Peri-Bilt Pools and co-owning A1 Pool Supply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Aleda Abrams and his sister, Phyllis Mahaney. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Abrams; daughter, Colleen Abrams; son, Jeffrey Abrams (Tami); granddaughters, Heather Giannoni and Paige Abrams; great grandson, J.J.; and many wonderful friends.

Phil had a rich life with his family and friends. He was of the generation where a handshake was a contract and his word was his bond.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held Tuesday, March 6 at 1:30 pm in the new chapel at St. Mary’s Cemetery – 6509 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA 95820.
