Phyllis Klein Rothenstein

Phyllis Klein Rothenstein, 91 of Camarillo and formerly of Sacramento died on May 30, 2021. She was married for 56 years to the late Julius Rothenstein who died in 2008.
Phyllis is survived by two children, her son Cliff and his wife Vickie, and her daugher Jayme and her husband Jackie; three grandchildren, Jason, Lauren and Chris; two great grandsons, Maurice and Cullen; and her brother Charles Klein.
Phyllis was born in Bronx, New York in 1929 and moved with Julius and her children to Sacramento in 1958.
Phyllis was a strong, independent woman. While raising her children, she earned her teaching degree and became a popular elementary school teacher at Fruitridge Elementary School until her retirement.
Phyllis was full of life and was always with her family and friends. She was an avid painter and loved the theater, singing and dancing and often stared in plays in Sacramento’s community theater. Her guilty pleasures were Sees Candy and a a martini with a twist.
In their retirement, Phyllis and Julius enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends.
A memorial will be held on June 8, 2021 at 12 pm at the Home of Peace located at 6200 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento.
