

Born August 16, 1955 in Woodland, Steven Carl 'Steve' Luth died in a tragic automobile accident on Sunday morning, October 27, 2013 near his native city of Woodland at the age of 58. A resident of Citrus Heights, Steve was the owner of Steve C. Luth Insurance Services of Orangevale and was known as the Worker's Comp Guy in his radio advertising on Sacramento's KFBK 1530.
Steve is survived by his sister Susan Lee and brother-in-law Raymond, nieces Stephanie Lee and Kristin Lee, all of Turlock. Also by his Aunt Phyllis Brown of Woodland, cousins Jeff Brown, Lisa Brown, Cindy Foster, Carla Meisinger and Pat Kropp. Steve is also survived by his business partner and best friend, Mercy Di Paolo of El Dorado Hills, and his godson Jonathan Barrows of Folsom.
Steve was preceded in death by parents Ed and Jerry Luth, both of Sacramento. Steve was a graduate of Hiram Johnson High School in 1973 and from CSUS in 1984 with a B.S. degree in International Business. Steve worked his way through college and university studies working at Bank of America.
In 1984, he began his insurance career working at Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, later in 1988 at Nationwide Insurance Companies. Steve then was an insurance broker at Albano, Dale, Dunn and Lewis before opening his own business with Mercy Di Paolo as Steve C. Luth insurance Services, 'The Worker's Comp Guy.'
Steve was fluent in French and traveled extensively in France. An avid collector of classic cars, had a vast collection Johnny Mathis materials and artifacts of President Ronald Reagan. Steve was also an active organizer of Hiram Johnson High School Class Reunions.
Visitation will on Thursday evening, October 31, 2013 at Nicoletti Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento from 4pm - to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 1 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1701 L Street in Sacramento. Graveside services will immediately follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, Sacramento. Reception will then be held at Mercy Di Paolo's El Dorado Hills Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2958 59th Street, Sacramento.
