Wanita L. Brundage, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and strength. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived.
While she was a strong survivor, Wanita was primarily an endearing Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and dear friend to many. She is preceded in death by sisters Patricia Swanson and Jacqueline Kelly. She is survived by all her loving children – Cynthia (Fuentes); Cristina (Conroy) and her husband, Michael; Phil and his wife, Kelly; Cara (Rentfro) and her husband, Bobby; and Mary (Grandy); brothers—Charles and Harvey (Chuck) Wimer, and his wife, Anna. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren—Tyler Grandy, Fidelito Fuentes, Taylor, Phillip III and Benjamin Brundage, Johnny, Bobby Jr. and Samuel Rentfro; as well as two great grandchildren—Kyla Marshall and Reagan Grandy.
Wanita enjoyed being around her family, traveling and visiting with friends. Reading and watching murder mystery shows were high up on her entertainment list as well.
A Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Wanita will be held March 22, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Garden of Memories in Salinas, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Schreiner’s Hospital (Donate to Shriners Children's — Give Today)—Wanita’s favorite charity.
Although Wanita’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. She is at peace and with her beloved husband, Phillip Sr., now and forever. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love, compassion and strength in all that we do.
