

Hayward, Barbara Lee, 88, passed away on December 15, 2013. She was born in Pana, Illinois on December 31, 1924. Barbara and her family moved to Chicago, Illinois before settling in Dallas, Texas where she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She went on to attend the University of Texas - Austin and became a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She subsequently transferred to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where she obtained her degree. While living in Austin she met Robert (Bob) G. Hayward, Jr. and they married in 1946. They moved to St. Louis, Missouri where they lived out the remainder of their lives. Barbara was a devoted homemaker to Bob and their four children and an avid supporter and volunteer for the March of Dimes. Her primary passion, however, outside of her family, was her beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Hayward, Jr., daughter Nancy Beth Hayward and her brother Kenneth Klapproth of Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her children Bill (Sally) Hayward of Dallas, Texas,
Beverly Custer of Houston, Texas, Robin Sanguinet of St., Louis, Missouri and Bob (Donna) Hayward of Dallas, Texas; her 12 grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 28th until the start of the Memorial Service at 12:30pm at Alexander-White-Mullen, St. Ann. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Mr. Lebanon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the March of Dimes.
