Eugene served in the Army occupying Germany after WWII and he worked 40+ years as a machinist and tool and die maker at Barry-Wehmiller Companies in St. Louis.
Eugene was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was mild-mannered, humble, quiet and kind to all. Eugene and Linda enjoyed regional travel when they were younger and took their children to see historical and geographical sights and to check out books at the library every two weeks. He was also well known for his love of his toy and model train collections (which he would gladly run and show to anyone who asked), fixing any mechanical device that needed fixing (being widely known as “Mr-Fixit” for his ability to build or repair anything he put his mind to), telling his stories about racing his cars (before he got married), doing jigsaw puzzles, swimming, reading (especially his Bible) and eating good food (especially his Son-In-Law’s BBQ and his daughter’s cooking). Eugene’s gentle spirit and smile, willingness to share experiences and expertise will be forever missed by his family
