Vincent “Vince” Frank Guenther, 89, of Bridgeton, MO passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary (nee Loeffler) Guenther; his wife, Gloria; 2 sons, Gregory (Beverly) Guenther and one in infancy; a grandson, Cory Guenther; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters. Vince is survived by his son, Randy (Elizabeth) Guenther; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Guenther, Nicholas (Jeanne) Guenther, Trisha (Daniel) Schultz, Dane Guenther, Paige Guenther, and Zachary Guenther; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother, Frank (Jeanne) Guenther.
Vince worked hard to support his family as an appliance technician for Hot Point and GE and received numerous service awards for his work. He was also a proud US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Vince loved to make people laugh—even toward the end of his life when he kept the nurses in stitches! He loved to travel and spent a lot of time visiting with his wife’s family in New Orleans and enjoyed several golf outings with his brothers in Georgia. He loved watching sports and especially enjoyed his time with Frank playing golf up to three times per week. He was a talented man who could build or fix just about anything and enjoyed helping out his neighbors with yard work. His kind heart and funny spirit will be missed by all.
Friends may help celebrate Vince and Gloria’s lives on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 15 at 10 a.m. with an interment to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors. Memorials are appreciated to the Humane Society of MO and expressions of condolence may be offered at www.alexanderstlouis.com.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at NHC of Maryland Heights and Heartland Hospice for their kind and loving care.
