Please accept my sincere condolences,on Gwen's passing.
Gwen and I moved to Loiselle St. within days of each other,many years ago.And co-incidentally,we were both nurses.
We also were pretty much the only 2 anglophones on the block.So we sort of gravitated toward each other.
For years,when the nice weather came,I would often be out in my front yard,most afternoons.
Around 5 p,m.Gwen would be coming from the Davis St.bus.
We started chatting about all sorts of things.Our cats,Dallas,Dancing with the Stars,and the goings-on in the neighborhood.
I have missed our meet ups,since Gwen's health declined.I will always treasure our friendship.
May she rest in peace now.

Your time in the Rehab was long and difficult. But your true self came through as it always could .. calm and accepting, with a smile. You are one of a kind, Gwen and very special.

Dear Frederick and family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on Gwen's passing. I watched this final tribute to her with heavy heart from my home here in Bermuda. I have no doubt that you will be sustained by warm memories of her and of her love for you all  in the months and years ahead. She is no longer suffering and that too is a comfort I'm sure.
  I remember  so vividly our childhood years on Parker's Hill. The sense,  of community was strong  among the families there, the Beans,  Furberts,  Gihons, Swans, Robinsons and of course the Gorings. Apologies to any whom I have omitted.
It's interesting that Gwen and Frederick should make Canada their eventual home because Parker's Hill is named for an early property owner there, Samuel J. Parker who was born in Nova Scotia and moved to Bermuda where he established the first Black newspaper in the early nineteenth century.
Frederick, please keep in touch.

I have known Gwendolyn all of my life, St. Theresa's and Berkeley Institute. I have not seen her too much over the years after she moved to Canada to live. However, thanks to FB we have been in touch.  Condolences to Gwendolyn 's family.

Today is the last day of February and like her mom Gwen used to send the Rabbit! Rabbit!  White Rabbit Greeting! on the stroke of midnight at the end of every single month. Then she’d add Gotcha Again!  She was rarely beaten much as many of us tried.  I value every memory of Gwen ... from our childhood through to adult hood – 75 + years.  I think of all our fun, conversations and hearing about her travels and family updates.  I admired her and her numerous accomplishments, and I especially treasure her painting of my Bermuda Easter lilies and her collection of stories written over the years.   Rest in Peace my dear friend.
Fred, Ann, Jeremy, Clarence, Jerome, Dixi, Jo and family, I know you will miss her terribly, but the smiles and laughs will come whenever you think of her. We have all been blessed by her presence in our lives.

It is with great sadness I send my deepest condolences to her family and friends. My life was blessed through Gwen's mentorship, leadership, support and most of all friendship. She was a pillar when I started my career on 3rd floor orthopedics and encouraged me to pursue my remaining career in the emergency. May she find peace in the next life!

She was funny and able to adapt well to a practical joke.  Like when Fred and I showed up at her apartment with bags and bags of vegetables from our drive up north. Plus the time we kept her distracted and ended up in a topless bar.

It is with great sadness that I offer my deepest sympathies to her family and friends. Gwen was a great mentor to me as I joined the Emergency team at St. Mary’s Hospital. She generously accepted me, taught me and offered unconditional support and encouragement! Her passion for “caring” as the essence of Nursing was evident in all she did ! Her radiant smile , infectious laugh and gentle touch were on display with every patient she cared for! She was a very special person who will be surely missed by all who knew her!

Gwen embodied the true meaning of presence, kindness, and optimism, even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. She lived fully, embracing each moment with grace and resilience. Her legacy of encouragement and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
