

Jan’s Father (James E. Schroder) & family traveled up & down the East Coast. Jan’s Father was a (W. T. Grant Company) store manager troubleshooter.
Jan was a graduate of the 1979 Bachelor School of Nursing from Salisbury State College in the first nursing program class, received her nursing license and earned her nursing Masters degree from University of Maryland. Jan worked through her late 70’s, teaching nursing, worked at Johns Hopkins trauma center & the eating disorder (ED) unit and other hospitals on sciatic units as head nurse and did home health care nursing and work for nursing agency.
Jan was active in Mandarin Presbyterian Church (MPC), Loved Rev. Pound’s Sermons, helped at the MPC Great Banquets and other activities in the church. Enjoyed going to the Mandarin Moose Lodge 42, dancing and talking to people. She loved to read, biking and spending time with friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, In-Laws, three of her children (a girl who died at birth, two boys Tony (3) and Toby (~22)). She is survived by her husband Stephen F. Watts, her four children David & Daniel Watts and Randy & Lonnie Gowe.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Celebration of Life at HARDAGE-GIDDENS ST. JOHNS, 1285 St, Johns, FL 32259 (see hgstjohns.com) on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 3:00 pm. Visitation with family and friends will follow the memorial service of which will include food & refreshments.
