Kenneth Allen Miller, known affectionately as Kenny, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of January 30, 2026, at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida, after the prolonged effects of Parkinson’s Disease. He was 71 years old.
Kenny was born on March 29, 1954, and grew up in Franklinton and Bogalusa, Louisiana, where he graduated from Enon High School. A proud lifelong learner, he later earned both his bachelor's degree and Master of Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Kenny built two successful careers in the telecommunications industry. He first retired from BellSouth/AT&T in Louisiana after many years as a project engineer and later retired a second time following a career in commercial telecommunications equipment sales in Florida. No matter the role, Kenny was respected for his intelligence, work ethic, and ability to solve most any problem.
Above all else, Kenny was fiercely proud of his family and deeply loyal to his friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ann Shamp Miller; his son Vince Miller (Quinn) of Valdosta, Georgia; his daughter Alicia Northrup (John) of St. Augustine, Florida; and his treasured grandchildren Faith, Seth, Ainsley, Luke, and Poppy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter D. Miller Sr. and Doris Magee Miller, and by his sister Jane Holliday (Doug). He is survived by his brother Walter “Denny” Miller Jr. (Dondra - deceased) and Ernie Miller.
Kenny loved all things sports and outdoors, cheering passionately for LSU and the New Orleans Saints, enjoying weekly rounds of golf with friends, fishing the intracoastal waterways with family, and fixing or building just about anything.
He was truly the life of the room; a master storyteller with a booming laugh and an endless supply of classic Boudreaux and Thibodeaux jokes. He believed beer should always be very cold, proudly “inventing” his signature drink, Michelob Ultra over ice, which he enjoyed alongside an occasional fine cigar. During his early adulthood, he was a radio disc jockey and guitarist, and his love for music remained a steady soundtrack throughout his life.
Kenny was raised in a small country Baptist church and later converted to Catholicism after meeting the love of his life. His legacy is simple and enduring: live life to the fullest while you can.
