It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Philomena Terrence O'Gleby, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life to be with the Lord on July 7, 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 75, following an extended illness. Philomena was the devoted mother of her only child, Caroline Bartolucci, and a loving mother-in-law to Rich Bartolucci. Her greatest joy in life came from her family, and she shared an especially close and cherished bond with her daughter.
She was also the proud and adoring grandmother to three grandchildren - Farhan, Sabrina, and Isabella, who brought light and laughter to her days. Nothing made her happier than spending time with them, cheering them on, and watching them grow.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 30 years, Terrence, who passed in 2005, and by her loving sister Georgina and beloved parents Joseph and Daisy. Though they are gone, their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Philomena is survived by her brothers, Sylvester Fernandez of Sarasota, FL (wife Shirley), John Farens of Shelton, CT (wife Donna) and Joseph Fernandez of Winchester, MA (wife Raina), and their families, all of whom she loved dearly. Her relationships with her siblings were marked by lifelong connection, shared memories, and family bonds that remained strong through the years.
Philomena had a wide and interesting professional career where she excelled in everything from banking to IT. A woman of quiet strength and enduring faith, Philomena touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering support. Her life was marked by resilience, generosity, and a deep love for her family. She lived with quiet dignity, always putting others before herself, and will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
In honor of her giving spirit, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Roswell, New Mexico, to which Philomena had a personal connection at https://donorbox.org/poor-clare-monastery
Her love was her legacy - and it will continue to shine through those she leaves behind.
A private service will be held by the family.
