

William “Bill” Edward Chattin, 75, passed away on February 7, 2026 surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida, he was raised on Fort George Island and graduated from Ribault Senior High School in 1968.
Following graduation, Bill volunteered for the U.S. Army and served a two-year tour in Vietnam. Upon his return, he worked full-time while attending the University of North Florida, where he earned his Accounting degree and CPA certification. In private practice as a CPA, Bill partnered with local CPA’s including Jim McMurry, Don Smith and Charles Sears. Later in his career, he joined Itera International Energy, eventually retiring as Chief Financial Officer.
Bill enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Edna Chattin, and his brother, Richard Chattin. William is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Chattin of 34 years; children, Richard (Sarah) Chattin, Jamison (Kelly) Chattin, Kathryn Chattin, and their mother Frances Snyder, step-sons Josh (Jenna) Shaw, and Justin (Chelsi) Shaw; brother, Marc (Robin) Chattin; sisters, Linda Brooks and Nina (Bruce) Armstrong; brother in law, Jeff (Kathy) Sullivan, all his nieces and nephews, 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens St Johns Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
Graveside Services with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL). Attendees should assemble in Lane 2.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill’s memory to Community Hospice & Palliative Care.
