Catherine Kelly Grunz

GRUNZ, Catherine (nee Kelly), 83, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Donald G. Grunz; loving mother of Margaret (David) Blakelock of Needham, MA, Joseph (Jianhui) Grunz, and John Grunz; dear grandmother of Catherine Blakelock of Newton, MA, Alexandra Blakelock of Washington, D.C., and Emily Grunz; dear sister of John (Noreen) Kelly and the late Margaret O’Brien; dear sister-in-law of Daniel O’Brien, Robert (Peggy) Grunz, and Maureen (James) Powers; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

A devout Catholic, Catherine was a parishioner of Incarnate Word Church for over 50 years. Catherine will always be known as being cheerful, patient, joyful, with a genuine concern for her extended loving family and friends. She grew up in the Little Flower Parish, attended Little Flower Elementary School, graduated from St. Joseph Academy, and St. Louis University. She married her high school sweetheart, Don, who graduated from Christian Brothers College High School and University of Missouri-Rolla. Catherine was an avid tennis player at Forest Lake Tennis Club.

SERVICES: The family will receive family and friends from 9:30am until time of Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Little Flower Catholic Church 1264 Arch Terrace (off Boland Place), Richmond Heights, MO. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Louis ARC 1177 N.
