Beloved wife of Dr. Joseph J. Lauber, M.D. and the late James E. Godfrey; dear mother of Rev. Timothy S. Godfrey, S.J., Dennis (Steve) Godfrey, James E. (Jessica) Godfrey, Jr., and Kathleen (Harriss) Godfrey Cook; beloved grandmother "Gigi" of Edward "Ted" and Andrew Cook; dear brother of David C. Higgins; our dear aunt, great aunt, step-mother and friend.
Ellen was a proud graduate of St. John's Mercy School of Nursing and a nurse at St. John's Mercy Hospital and the American Red Cross. She was also involved in many charities and volunteered to support the work of many service organizations and her parish church.
Special thanks and a heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of Mercy Hospice and Martha's Hands who helped her family to fulfill her wish to spend her last days at home.
Visitation at Our Lady of the Pillar Catholic Church, 401 S. Lindbergh Blvd (63141), Thursday, July 10, 2014, 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. the same day. Private Burial.
