

Barry Richard Weener, of Panama City Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. Born on May 16, 1946, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Barry was the son of Edith Weener (née Klein) and Samuel Weener. He spent his early years in Chelsea before the family settled in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
Barry graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1969 and later earned his Juris Doctor from Boston University. He built a long and committed career in law, practicing with dedication and integrity.
Barry was a devoted father to his sons, Seth Weener of Peabody, Massachusetts, and Derek Wade of Needham, Massachusetts. He took immense pride in their lives and families. He was the beloved grandfather of Jacob and Joshua Wade, the children of Derek and his wife, Alyssa; and of Bennett and Hannah Weener, the children of Seth.
In his later years, Barry shared his life with his partner, Leanne Emerton, whose companionship brought him warmth, comfort, and joy.
Barry’s life was defined by his deep love for family and his generous spirit. He will be remembered for his intelligence, loyalty, kindness, and enduring strength. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.
A funeral service for Barry Richard Weener will be held on
Monday, December 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, MA 01970. The interment will follow at Temple Israel Cemetery, 506 Lowell St, Peabody, MA 01960.
Shiva will be held at Temple Beth Shalom 670 Highland Ave, Needham, MA 02494 on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
