

She is survived by her loving nephew and long-distance family caregiver, Stuart Turgel of Scottsdale, AZ. Eileen is also being remembered by numerous relatives spanning several generations of the Turgel and Bloom families as well as her many life-long friends. In particular she is survived by her beloved cousin Shirley Itzkowitz who was like a sister to Eileen. Eileen’s cousins Doreen Godes and Sharon Itzkowitz and her dear friends Patti McGlaughlin and Michael Flint were all extraordinarily helpful to Eileen over the decades as she coped with extreme visual impairment and her health challenges.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Ralph Turgel of Boston and her brother George Turgel of Boca Raton, FL
Eileen was born in the old melting pot neighborhood of the West End of Boston and later lived in Dorchester, Randolph and Salem. She graduated from Girl’s High School in 1950. In 1954 she was part of the third graduating class at Brandeis University where she earned a BA in mathematics and chemistry. She spent her career in finance and business management. She travelled frequently to scores of nations throughout the world for business and as pleasure.
A graveside service for Eileen Turgel will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 10:45AM at Sharon Memorial Park 40 Dedham St, Sharon, MA 02067.
