Gerald Molk

Gerald Molk – of Peabody, entered into rest on April 27, 2020, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Vigodman) Molk with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Gerald was born in Malden to Charles and Sarah (Pelas) Molk. He grew up in Lynn, graduating from Lynn Classical High School, then enlisting in the Army in 1942. Sgt. Molk served his country in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters of WWII. After the war, Jerry and Dorothy were married and moved to Ohio. In 1964, they relocated to Peabody with their three sons, David, and twins Steve and Stuart. Mr. Molk was employed as a regional sales manager for American Snacks in Chelsea. Upon retirement in 1986, Jerry and Dorothy moved to Lake Worth, Florida where they enjoyed 25 years of living. After his wife passed, Jerry moved back to Peabody to be closer to his family. He has spent the last ten years residing at the Tannery II apartments where he made many new friends and became an avid Red Sox fan. Jerry was an accomplished poet and sculptor. He was very proud of his beautiful poems and busts that he created for friends to enjoy. However, he was most proud of his family, especially of his oldest son David’s military honors, earned while serving his country in Vietnam Nam. Jerry was the devoted father of Steven Molk and his wife Valerie of Peabody, Stuart Molk and his wife Ann of Danvers, the late David Molk, and daughter-in-law Jeanette Molk and her partner John Murphy of Magnolia; “Zayde” to Cara Molk, Matthew Molk and his wife Serena, Joshua Molk, Bryan Molk and his wife Giselle, and Michael Molk and his wife Taryn; Great Grandfather to Theo, Max, Julian, Camryn, Thomas, and Edward; Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his brother Max Molk, and sister, Sylvia Yudin.

Funeral services are private due to regulations imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic.
