Michael Harvey Goshko

Marblehead –Michael H. Goshko, Esq., 78, of Marblehead, entered into rest February 6, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Beloved husband of Joan (Sallet) Goshko. Dear son of the late Edward and Gertrude (Gorodnitsky) Goshko. Michael was born and raised in West Lynn. After graduating from Lynn Classical High, he continued his education at Harvard College; where he met his wife Joan, and went on to receive his professional degree from Yale Law School. He and Joan moved to Marblehead soon thereafter with their son Mark and welcomed their daughter Barrie, a year later.

In his youth, Michael was active in the JCC of Lynn and continued his involvement ultimately serving as president of the JCC in Marblehead, and then part of the former presidents advisory group for many years. He also worked on two advisory committees for the Town of Marblehead. Mr. Goshko had a successful law practice in Boston, specializing in corporate and business law, and ended his career four years ago retiring from the firm of Burns and Levinson.

He was part of the Harvard alumni group who regenerated the Harvard Club of the North Shore. He was blessed with the addition of two sons-in-law, Geoffrey Weiss and Troy Murray. Michael had many cherished friends with who had kept in touch over the years, who were a great support for Michael and the whole family. We thank you.

In addition to his beloved wife, devoted children and sons-in-law, he is survived by his brother, David Goshko & his late wife Naomi of Swampscott and two sisters-in-law, Linda Goshko of Washington and Joann Tenenbaum of Swampscott. Michael was also the brother of the late John Goshko and William Tenenbaum.

His Memorial Service will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, SALEM on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2 PM. Interment was held privately. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore, 4 Community Road, Marblehead, MA 01945 or to the charity of your choice.
