Sidney Goodman

GOODMAN, Sidney, 83, of Wellington, Florida passed away peacefully at home July 11th, 2017. Sidney was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Barbara, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Proud father to Dr. Karl (Tami) Goodman, Deborah (Dr. Brian) Haft and Dr. William (Jane) Goodman and adoring grandfather to Elizabeth, David, Adam, Scott, Jessica, Erica, Benjamin, Naomi, Joel and Eli. Loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all.

Born and raised in Chelsea, MA, he graduated, Chelsea High School in 1950 and Boston University in 1954. Before retiring to Florida, he worked in business while raising his family in Sharon, MA. Sid and Barb enjoyed traveling and meeting people all over the world. Upon retirement, Sidney pursued his lifelong passion for the history of World War I diplomacy and was actively writing his Master’s thesis when he became ill.

Sidney will be remembered for his bright smile, healthy athletic lifestyle, engaging conversation, intellectual insights, endless pursuit of knowledge, generosity and especially his dedication to his entire family. He will be missed by all those he touched with his kindness.

A funeral service will be Sunday, July 16th at 11 AM, at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, Salem, MA, followed by burial at Chevra Mishna Cemetery in Lynn, MA. Shiva will be observed in New Hampshire.
