It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Ashley Ann Kramer (née Beringer) on May 20, 2025, due to complications from a seizure. Ashley was born on January 26, 1987, and lived a life defined by compassion, faith, and unwavering kindness.
Ashley leaves behind her beloved father Timothy Beringer, whom she cared for full-time with devotion; her mother Deborah Johaningmeier (née Boline) and stepfather Jeff Johaningmeier; sisters Sara Sibert and her husband Nickolas, and Sofiah Beringer; grandmother Beverly Boline; step-mother Kelly Beringer; and cousin Jamie Strusz. She also leaves behind countless other cousins, family, friends, and her cherished "furchildren" Belle, Little Bit, Rory, and LeFou. Ashley was predeceased by her grandparents Leonard Boline, and James (Jim) and Minnie Chapin.
Following in her grandfather Jim's footsteps, Ashley pursued a career in psychology with special interest in youth and family studies as well as biblical studies. She found fulfillment and purpose as an active member of John Knox Presbyterian Church in Keizer, Oregon, where her faith guided her daily actions and inspired her service to others.
Ashley embodied what it means to be a true Christian through her remarkable empathy and unconditional acceptance of all people. She was passionate about social justice, advocating tirelessly for women's and LGBTQ+ rights and environmental protection. Ashley's heart was especially open to LGBTQ+ youth, offering them understanding, support, and a safe space to be themselves before God and the church. Her life's mission, rooted in her profound love for God, was spreading kindness, tolerance, and the fundamental principle of loving thy neighbor.
Ashley was wonderfully multifaceted – deeply compassionate yet delightfully silly. She brought joy through her playful spirit, often dressing up her beloved pets and finding humor in everyday moments. Ashley courageously transformed her personal struggles into strength, using her own experiences to connect with and support others with their challenges. Her unwavering commitment to being a good human was evident in everything she did.
An animal lover at heart, Ashley adored her cats and bunny, while holding a special fascination for sharks and penguins. Her other joys included reading historical fiction, appreciating musicals, singing and listening to music, crafting, traveling, and all things Disney.
Those who knew Ashley will remember her for her exceptional kindness, compassion, and the gentle way she carried on her grandmother Minnie's legacy of helping others. Her light will continue to shine through the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit and open heart.
