

Cody Leon Hopkins (1971-2024) was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, gruncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. He was the protector of his family and would give the shirt off his back to a perfect stranger.
He was born in Vancouver, Washington and raised in Salem, Oregon.
Cody graduated from South Salem High School in 1989. After graduation, he moved to the Los Angeles, California area where he pursued his love for music. He was the frontman for his band Down from Hollow. Cody had a stage presence that when he sang his voice and energy commanded your attention.
While living in LA, Cody found and married the love of his life, April. They eventually settled back in Salem, Oregon, with their two pit bulls, four cats, and five chickens. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling with his wife in a local league.
Cody will be remembered as a Lakota Warrior in life and in stories as Cody “Two Bulls” Hopkins. He will be remembered for his boisterous laughter, his charisma, his witty sense of humor, his inclusivity, his loyalty, telling stories from his childhood, his love for the Oakland Raiders (since 1976) and the Los Angeles Lakers, his love of Marvel, his love for music, quoting lines from movies, but most of all, spending time with family and friends, especially, with his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
Cody is survived by his wife April, parents Rocky and Theresa, brother Bryan, sisters Angel (Sean) and Buffy, nephews Joshua, Chance (Kylee), nieces Merissa (Al), Jerrica (Tim), Skye, three great-nephews, five great-nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that he considered family.
Cody was preceded in death by his pit bull Tennessee.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
