My condolences and prayers go out to the entire Buchanan Family.  I found out this morning and was deeply saddened.  I served with Gunny Buchanan in Oklahoma City from 2000 to 2002.  I learned a lot on how to be a Marine and also a man from the Gunny.  Please take comfort in knowing that he walks with God now.

David was an awesome man and I am so honored to have had the privilege of knowing and working with him.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.  David...you will be missed!

I'd like to send my deepest condolences to David's family.  I only knew David for the past couple of years and would only see him on TDYs on the job.  David was truly a kind and funny man and it was a privlidge to know him.  May his guardian angels keep watch over him until we see him again.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of David. I was in the Master of Logistics class at Southeastern Oklahoma State Univ (Tinker Campus) with him. We worked projects together and such. I have known and worked with David only a couple of years, but his compassion for others became evident on one of our first TDYs together.  I was truly shocked and saddened by his passing.  My prayers go out to his children and family.  I pray our Lord and Savior brings comfort to David's family and friends in the days ahead.  I hope this poem provides some comfort to each of us.

When I am gone, remember I'm with Jesus; Then do not grieve because I've passed away; Life holds so may griefs and disappointments, Any will you weep because I did not stay?

Weep not because I walk no longer with you; Remember, I am walking streets of gold; Weep for yourselves that you awhile must tarry, Before the blessed Lord you may behold.

This is truly a sad day.  I can't believe that David is gone.  He was a wonderful man and a joy to work with.  He had an outstanding passion for his work, amazing attention to detail, and always kept us smiling.  I will truly miss David.  My sincerest condolences to the family.

You were a good man David. Your ready smile and wit were treasured by all. It was my honor to know you, to call you my friend...I am much poorer by your passing.

David - This is Bruce, you will be greatly missed here but heaven is a lot better off with your presence. Those remembered are never truly gone.

I had the honor of working with David at Tinker -- traveling with him on a number of TDYs in '08/09. He was a super great guy and will be sorely missed.

Cannot help but think about you David.  I will miss you here on earth.  David was truly an incredible person.  What awesomeness!  What Strength!  What a great Soul!  All that knew him will miss David. For those that did not know David, they will have missed out never knowing him.   My life has been enriched by David’s presence and forever sadden by his loss. No words could ever express what David has done for our family.  We are the family of Logan Combs and wish to express our deepest sympathies to you.

David was an amazing man of God.  You could see in his eyes his passion and his heart for people.  I enjoyed his genuine friendship and all that we went through in ministry in Oklahoma together.  Seeing him raise his 2 children as a single dad, sacrificing all.....  He was an amazing man and will be missed by countless people.

I met David on December 11, 2010. I could tell he was very special and told him so when our time was up.  In the short time we had together I had the opportunity to hear his heart regarding his children and grandchildren and his desire for their lives. Few people make an impact on me in as short of time as he did.  That's how I know he is truly a special person.  May you rest in peace!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. David was always a kind and happy person. It was a pleasure knowing him through the TIP program and he will be missed greatly!

Our prayers goes out to Dave's family during this difficult time. Dave was a neighbor of my husband and myself in Newcastle, but he soon became a very close friend to our family. We truly enjoyed spending time with him and his son "Little Dave". We will always remember Dave as a good man with a kind heart and a warm smile. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

Dave was family.  I remember countless times hanging out with him at Selina and Jim's house and watching his kids play and having him over for Thanksgiving.  My deepest sympathy goes out to David and Diana and to the rest of his family.  You're family too.  Dave will always have a special place in my heart and he will be missed.

A very sad day for all of Dave's family and friends. We had a chance recently to spend time with Dave and ride our motorcycles through God's country. Now Dave is riding every day with God. It saddens us to know the plans of meeting again next year will not come. Dave will watch us all from above. He seemed to be good with God and will see us all again when it is our time. Dave, you are Missed!

As my husband Jim already posted, Dave was a very good friend of ours.  We have known him for many years.  Our loss is great, our hearts are broken.  We can't even express how much we loved Dave.  He was a wonderful friend, one who would do anything for us, one we knew we could count on.  He was the person we called in the middle of the night to come watch our two boys when we were in labor with our daughter 15 years ago.  There are few people you can call in the middle of the night, but Dave was one we could.  

We love you, Dave, and we miss you.  We are so grateful to know we will see you again one day in Heaven.  

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to David and Diana, as well as to Dave's parents and his siblings and the rest of his family and friends.  Our hearts are broken right along with yours.
